PLOWS Council on Aging

When a senior has difficulty properly preparing their own meals due to illness or disability, HOME DELIVERED MEALS help them maintain independent living and provide good nutrition. PLOWS Council on Aging provides meal delivery to eligible clients both long term and short term for those temporarily in need after an injury or hospital stay.

The communities of Alsip, Chicago Ridge, Evergreen Park, Hickory Hills, Worth, Merrionette Park, and parts of Bridgeview are served by the HOME DELIVERED MEALS PROGRAM at PLOWS. Volunteer drivers deliver one or two meals to clients’ homes Monday through Friday. Client eligibility is determined after a PLOWS’ case manager conducts an in home assessment.

Partial funding for Home Delivered Meals comes from AgeOptions through Title III-C of the Older Americans Act. This does not cover the cost of the meal, so recipients are asked for a voluntary contribution to Support the program. If you are interested in learning more about the HOME DELIVERED MEALS PROGRAM or you know a senior who can benefit from any of our services, please contact PLOWS at 708-361-0219 or visit http://www.plows.org.
