Moraine Valley to Host Recycling Event April 25th

Bring household electronic waste, pharmaceuticals and textiles you’d otherwise throw out to the community recycling collection on Saturday, April 25, 2015 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Building T parking lot on Moraine Valley Community College’s Palos Hills campus.

Drop off unwanted (broken or not) telephones, radios, cameras, computers, TVs, batteries, space heaters, and other things that use or hold energy and small appliances with a plug. Large appliances such as washing machines or refrigerators are not accepted.

Textiles include shoes, clothes, gloves or hats, linens, blankets, belts, purses, and towels. Pharmaceuticals consist of unwanted medicines (pills or liquid) and controlled substances, but no needles.

SouthSTAR Services is helping collect the e-waste. This group employs people with special needs to reclaim and recycle the precious metals.
