Hickory Hills High School Student Composes Complete Musical Piece

Hickory resident and Stagg High School Senior, Jason Kazin, recently was the subject of the feature story in the Sunday, November 19, 2017 issue of the Daily Southtown. The article, titled “Emotional Crescendo,” describes how Jason composed his piece named “The Ever Burning Fire.” The Stagg Wind Symphony performed Jason’s composition during a recent fall concert at Stagg. Jason’s musical piece was so well received that it was entered into the Illinois Music Educators Association competition for musical composition. The Southtown article explained that Jason has the rare musical talent of perfect pitch, sings in the school chorale and recently achieved the status of Eagle Scout.
