Lawrence “Larry” Hedger

Lawrence “Larry” Hedger, passed away on March 10, 2019 at the age of 86 years. He served the City of Hickory Hills as 3rd ward Alderman between 1971 and 1975.

Larry loved serving the City and coaching its youth. He was instrumental in re-locating Hickory Hills Baseball from its Sabre Room location to its current location on 76th avenue, also serving as its Treasurer as well as a team manager.

Larry was a founding member of the Hickory Hills Rebels youth football organization in 1970, as well as being a coach. He taught the City’s youth the rules of mathematics as a teacher at Amos Alonzo Stagg High School, along with coaching them to be team players.

A wake for Larry is being held on Saturday, March 23rd from 2:00pm to 4:30pm at Lack & Sons Funeral Home (located at 9236 S. Roberts Road, Hickory Hills). A memorial will be held following the wake to 6:00pm and will include him being honored by the U.S. Army.
