Last Evening’s Storm Update
Rapid moving storms swept through our community in the early morning hours. The storms packed high winds that left the following damage:
- 2 critical facilities out of power
- Several Com Ed utility poles damaged in the area of 88th Avenue and 95th Street along with the power outages
- At least 50 customers in Hickory Hills out of power but, the number could be much higher.
- Minor tree damage throughout town. Heavier tree damage east of Roberts Rd.
All Invited to Relay for Life Event Saturday, August 7 at Conrady Junior High School
The American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Central Cook County invites everyone to join them on Saturday, August 7, from 7 to 9 pm, at Conrady Junior High School for its annual Relay for Life Event to raise money to help find a cure for cancer and to support the survivors and remember those who have lost their battle with cancer. As participants walk around the track, the event will include a huge raffle by Team Colleen, a bagpiper and lighting luminaries.
