WHEREAS: Jonathan Janda is a Hickory Hills resident and a graduate of Stagg High School; and
WHEREAS:Jonathan has served on the City of Hickory Hills’ Youth Advisory Council, volunteering countless hours towards the betterment of our City; and
WHEREAS: Jonathan is an avid hockey fan and talented amateur hockey player who has exhibited his skills over the years at the rinks throughout Chicagoland; and
WHEREAS: The City is most grateful for Jonathan’s leadership and accomplishments on the Youth Advisory Council; and
WHEREAS: Now Jonathan is fighting his own personal battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma; and
WHEREAS: The City is confident that Jonathan will battle this unexpected challenge with the same tenacity, desire and inspiration that he has displayed on the ice and in all other aspects of his life; and
WHEREAS: The City of Hickory Hills supports all the combined efforts for Jonathan’s return to good health including a fundraiser on his behalf:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor, I do hereby proclaim March 15th , 2008 as “JONATHAN JANDA DAY” in Hickory Hills and on behalf of the City Council extend our sincere wishes for many healthy and productive years in the future.
