Butterfly/Pollinator Plants at 87th and 88th Avenue Planter Boxes

A resident inquired about planting pollinator plants in the proposed planter boxes at the 87th and 88th Avenue intersection.  Barb will be happy to find out that the landscaper has plans to include Aster and Catmint plants that are both butterfly friendly plants.  We appreciate her suggestions and comments regarding this important issue.

Hickory Hills Park District Playgrounds Remain Closed

The Hickory Hills Park District asked that I remind residents that park district playgrounds, the outdoor fitness station and basketball courts remain closed per the State of Illinois COVID-19 reopening guidelines.

I am no Cubs fans, but how crazy of a prediction was this?

Theo Epstein, the Cubs General Manager, was speaking 6 years ago at a championship rally and told young Ed Howard to keep working hard and he will draft him when he is old enough.  Yesterday, the Cubs made Mount Carmel High School Senior Ed Howard their number one draft pick!
