November 5, 2023 Update from the Mayor

Public Invited to City Veteran’s Day Ceremony  Thursday, November 9 at 6 p.m. 

The city will be hosting its annual Veteran’s Day Ceremony in the park adjacent to City Hall (8652 W. 95th Street) at 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 9.  Military Veterans from Palos Memorial Post 1993 will officiate the ceremony, along with participation from the Hickory Hills Police Department and other local officials.

Jim is one of the most ardent supporters of the military that I know.  Jim leads Kruse’s Crew, a group of local volunteers who collect donations and send care packages to our troops servings overseas.  Please see link to his show below:

Electric Vehicle Rebate Program Application – Deadline January 31, 2024

Applications for the third funding round for the Electric Vehicle Rebate Program are being accepted starting November 1, 2023 and must be postmarked on or before January 31, 2024.The application and instructions are now available on the Illinois EPAElectric Vehicle Rebate website.

Applicants must apply during the rebate cycle window and within 90 days of purchase of the vehicle. Funding for the round is limited and low-income applicants are given priority for rebates.  EV rebates are subject to the availability of funds for each cycle. Illinois residents purchasing a new or used all-electric passenger vehicle ($4,000) or all-electric motorcycle ($1,500) from an Illinois licensed dealer are eligible for the rebate. Applicants that certify as low income are given priority in disbursement of the rebates.
