February 28, 2019 City Council Meeting Minutes
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Hickory Hills City Council was called to order by Mayor Mike Howley on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor Howley led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Alderman Ferrero moved to open the meeting to the public. Alderman Waight second. Roll call: Aldermen Ferrero, Fonte, Szeszycki, Waight, Zimmerman aye. So approved.
Ms. Beth Medeiros
9112 S. 88th Avenue
Ms. Medeiros voiced her concerns regarding an increase in accidents on 88th Avenue near 91st Place. She noted there has been several accidents since July. Ms. Medeiros felt the street light at 91st Street is the problem and there is a blind spot. Mayor Howley stated the Council will discuss this matter.

Alderman Ferrero moved to close the meeting to the public. Alderman Fonte second. Roll call: Aldermen Ferrero, Fonte, Szeszycki, Waight, Zimmerman aye. So approved.
JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS
Alderman Szeszycki moved to approve the minutes of the regularly scheduled meeting of February 14, 2019 as printed subject to deletions or corrections. Alderman Ferrero second. Roll call: Aldermen Ferrero, Fonte, Szeszycki, Zimmerman aye. Alderman Waight pass. So approved.
REPORTS OF CITY OFFICIALS
MAYOR
Mayor Howley presented the Street Fair Liquor License for approval. Alderman Szeszycki moved to approve the Street Fair Liquor License. Alderman Fonte second. Roll call: Aldermen Ferrero, Fonte, Szeszycki, Waight, Zimmerman aye. So approved.
CITY CLERK
Clerk Catizone is in receipt of a request for signs from the Hills Chamber of Commerce. This is for their business expo which is Saturday, March 23rd. They are seeking permission to place signs at 95th Street and Kean Avenue, 95th Street and 88th Avenue. No objections were noted.
Clerk Catizone announced the deadline for newsletter articles is Friday, March 8th.
CITY TREASURER

CITY ATTORNEY
Attorney Joe Cainkar presented the following storm sewer easement agreements for Parcel #03A, Benton Aurbourne, LLC, Parcel #03-09 and 06A, Parcel #2A, Parcel #01A, Parcel #2, Parcel #03B and Parcel #010 for approval. These agreements are for the Colonial Apartment sewer project. Alderman Szeszycki moved to approve the following storm sewer easement agreements for Parcel #03A, #03-09, #06A, #02A, #01A, #2, #03B and Parcel #010. Alderman Ferrero second. Roll call: Aldermen Ferrero, Fonte, Szeszycki, Waight, Zimmerman aye. So approved.
Attorney Joe Cainkar presented Resolution #19-03, a resolution authorizing the sale of surplus public real estate located at 8800 W. 87th Street, Hickory Hills. Alderman Fonte moved to approve Resolution #19-03. Alderman Szeszycki second. Roll call: Aldermen Ferrero, Fonte, Szeszycki, Waight, Zimmerman aye. So approved.
CITY ENGINEER

BILLS PAYABLE
Alderman Szeszycki moved to approve the bills payable for the second half of February 2019 in the amount of $207,921.36. Alderman Waight second. Roll call: Aldermen Ferrero, Fonte, Szeszycki, Waight, Zimmerman aye. So approved.

Alderman Ferrero inquired as to when the budget meetings will be scheduled. Treasurer Schramm stated these will be held in April. Further dates will be announced at the March Council Meetings.
