April 9, 2020 Update from the Mayor
Happy Thursday evening Hickory Hills residents.
Today, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced 1,344 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois. Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 16,422 cases including 528 deaths in 81 counties in Illinois. There are still 19 reported cases of COVID19 in Hickory Hills.

Cautionary Tale
The following story is an example of why we cannot let our guard down with social distancing. One person who attended a birthday and a funeral in Chicago earlier this year likely left 16 people infected with coronavirus, three of whom died, according to a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention study.
