May 12, 2020 Update from the Mayor
According to the Cook County Department of Public Health, there are 21,280 cases reported,* we are aware of 3,879 (18.2%) hospitalized** cases; 1,489 (7.0%) have been hospitalized in the intensive care unit.
Based on previous experience with reportable diseases, cases with unknown hospitalization status are more likely to be mild cases.
**Hospitalization status refers to whether cases were ever hospitalized, not current hospitalization status.
Hickory Hills now has 91 confirmed cases of COVID and 2 documented deaths.
Blue Angels Fly Over
The US Navy Blue Angels flew over Detroit, Chicago and Indianapolis today to honor our brave healthcare workers, essential workers and everyone affected by COVID. I shot the video below from the Oak Lawn Pavilion parking lot near 95th Street and Oak Park Avenue.

R.I.P Jerry Stiller
I forgot to mention the passing of Jerry Stiller yesterday. He passed away of natural causes at the age of 92. He had a legendary acting career and may be most remembered for his role as Frank Costanza on Seinfeld. Here is a funny clip:
