May 15 is Endangered Species Day
Great news just in time for Endangered Species Day, May 15: The Barrens topminnows at Shedd have produced young! The Shedd teamed with the Tennessee Aquarium to help save this endangered species. When these fry grow into 4-inch adults, they’ll be released to bolster wild populations in Tennessee. Watch the video, then support the “Thirty by Thirty” initiative to protect 30 percent of land and water by 2030.
Please Stop at Posted Stop Signs and Obey Residential Speed Limit
Now that many of us are home, I think we see just how frequently motorists speed down our residential streets and fail to properly stop at posted stop signs. A resident just wrote me about this problem and I have seen this on a regular basis as well. The 89th and Maple Lane intersection is one of many where both the speed and posted sign are regularly ignored. Sadly, it is often our own residents and neighbors who are the culprits. With more pedestrians and bicyclists sharing the roadway, please do your part and drive responsibly to keep our roads safe.

S’more the hamster had this reaction when asked about what he thought of the bunny video posted earlier this week that has garnered more views than his previous hamster videos.
