The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced 1,759 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois with 46,668 test specimens reported in the last 24 hours. Laboratories have reported a total of 2,896,063 tests administered in Illinois to date. IDPH has reported a total of 186,471 cases, including 7,573 deaths, including 30 deaths in the last 24 hours, in Illinois. Preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total tests from July 29 through August 4 is 3.9%.  There are now 187 confirmed COVID cases in Hickory Hills with 5 related deaths.  Two of the deaths were people aged 60-69; 1 death was a person aged 70-79 and 2 deaths were people above 80 years old.

In response to a recent resident inquiry about region based data, another resident was nice enough to send me the following link from the Illinois Department of Public Health that shows COVID data by region (We are in region 10).  It breaks down the daily numbers by region with visuals of the data, applies to Positivity Increases, Hospital Admissions Increases, Med Surge Bed availability, and ICU Bed availability.  Thanks so much for sharing!

Update from Hickory Hills Police Chief Charles Hobart

Like all Police Departments, our officers are out there working 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  What has become less common though, we are one of the few local police departments that still has a communication center, which means when you call for help or assistance, you are speaking with someone at your HHPD and our front door is always open.  In keeping up with state mandates for dispatching consolidation and trying to stay relevant in changing times, our communication center has taken on some additional dispatching responsibilities for the Villages of Summit and Bedford Park.  These additions will allow us to keep our doors open, literally and figuratively, for many years to come.  The guys and gals who make up our communication center team are some of the most wonderful individuals you will ever meet and are working hard to provide exceptional service to everyone.

I will post the Zoom Webinar audio for the Republican Congressional Candidate, Mike Fricilone, as soon as it is available next week.
