December 17, 2020 Update from the Mayor

State officials announced 7,359 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 117 additional fatalities. Illinois medical workers started receiving their initial doses of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine on Tuesday, and the FDA said that its initial review confirmed the effectiveness and safety of a second vaccine.  These are truly promising signs that there is reason for hope and that life as we knew it may begin to return in phases during the upcoming year.  Until then, we must remain cautious as the virus continues to spread.  There are now 817 cumulative cases of COVID in Hickory Hills and 16 COVID related deaths.
