Medication Drop Off Container in Hickory Hills Police Station Lobby

Just a reminder to please consider the environment before flushing medicine down your toilet or disposing in the trash.  Studies have shown that trace amounts of medication can find their way into our waterways and even drinking supply.  An easy and environmentally friendly alternative is to drop off any expired and unused medications in the secured medication disposal bin located in the lobby of our police station.  Though not required, it is recommended that you remove labels or obscure labels containing any personal information.

Starbucks

So great to drive east bound down 95th Street the other day and see the Hickory Hills Starbucks sign at the Ricky Rockets development across from McDonalds!   Hoping that we can enjoy a Starbucks product at this location in early summer.  Our Starbucks will have indoor seating, a drive-thru and a comfortable outdoor patio.

COVID and Vaccine Updates

There are 1,114 confirmed cumulative cases of COVID in Hickory Hills with 21 related deaths.  Vaccines are still hard to come by, but I am hearing of more people getting vaccinated.  Though the city still has no control or involvement in the vaccine distribution process, it is my understanding that there should be an influx of vaccines distributed to the state in the next few weeks.  At long last, my mother was able to secure a vaccination appointment in mid-March through her health care provider.  Please continue to check with your personal health care providers and local pharmacies, including Jewel-Osco.   https://www.jewelosco.com/pharmacy/covid-19.html

As always, please continue to wash your hands regularly, practice social distancing and wear a mask when in public and social distancing cannot be maintained.
