Brian was a beloved teacher in NPD117. The Dorn gymnasium is being named in his honor. Dr. McCaffrey said that Mr. Boam incorporated academics in all his physical education activities. She said he also performed magic tricks at the end of his PE class if students lined up quietly. Mr. Boam was such a popular teacher that there was a waiting list for his after-school PE program. Dr. McCaffrey said he would have music blaring in the gym, especially Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” “Brian’s dance parties were epic.”
