July 9, 2024 Update from the Mayor
Abrupt Closure of Arby’s
We recently learned that the long time franchisee of the Hickory Hills Arby’s decided to end his relationship with the corporation. The franchisee has over 6 other Arby’s locations that he will be closing. The city is working with the property owner and local real estate brokers to help find a replacement for the popular location. We will keep you apprised of further developments.
Sem Sem Mediterranean Coming to Hickory Hills
We are pleased to announce that Sem Sem Mediterranean has reached agreement with the former Tastee Freez property owner to operate its 3rd location in the southwest region. We should start to see final improvements and signage installation in the next few weeks. Sem Sem has current locations in Tinley Park and Chicago Ridge.

Dedicated Right Turn Lane on 95th Street at 76th Avenue
Just wanted to advise that the right turn lane that was added for east bound 95th Street traffic turning south on 76th Avenue, is not fully complete. The first phase of the right turn lane that the city and IDOT partnered on is complete. However, Ricky Rockets is awaiting permits to extend the turn lane further west to reach its existing driveways. Ricky Rockets is paying for this additional improvement that will extend the right turn lane length and also even out the pavement.
