Hills Chamber of Commerce Hosts Senior Fair This Saturday at Hickory Hills Community Center

The Hills Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Senior Resource Fair on Saturday, April 12, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Hickory Hills Community Center, located at 7800 W. 89th Place, Hickory Hills. Admission is free.

Hills Chamber of Commerce business members and representatives from Cook County, Nicor, ComEd, BCBS of Illinois, United Healthcare, Palos Township, Medicare, and others will be available to answer questions and provide information. For individuals approaching retirement who have inquiries about Medicare and its services, this is an opportunity to obtain information. It’s never too early to start planning.

Representatives from the Illinois Tollway will be available to assist with obtaining the new iPass Sticker. Additionally, an iCash representative will be present to help locate any unclaimed money. The Hills Chamber will also conduct a raffle for two $50 Fairplay gift cards.

Spring is Weed Season, but consider Pet Friendly Alternatives

As a dog owner, I always have been concerned about using weed killer’s with ingredients that researchers have determined contain a probable human carcinogen.  I am sure that there are other products/brands out there, but recently on WGN, HouseSmarts host Lou Manfredini, spoke about the Spruce product.  As marketed, Spruce is a fast-acting weed & grass killer that delivers visible results in one hour – and is safe for use around people and pets, when used as directed.

Many people making small everyday decisions will have a positive impact on the environment.
