June 29, 2026 Update from the Mayor
Hickory Hills Community Center Located at 7800 W. 89th Place Will Be Open As Cooling Center During Extreme Heat
According to the Weather Channel, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will have a real feel temperature over 100 degrees in Hickory Hills. This is extremely dangerous heat and we would ask you to be sure to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities as much as possible. Please take care of yourselves, but also keep an eye out for neighbors, partiulcarly seniors and those who may have impaired health. We have always been a community that cares about the well being of others, but play particular attention these next three days.
Due to the extreme heat, our Hickory Hillls Community Center will be open as a cooling center for residents who need a place to cool down. There is plenty of parking adjacent to the community center. The community center phone number is 708/237-4150 or you can call city hall at 708/598-4800 and ask for Mary Esposito should you need assistance getting to the community center.
Continued Assistance from Red Cross for Storm Victims
Message from Red Cross:
Since the storms, Red Cross volunteers have been working alongside local emergency management officials, community partners and first responders to provide emergency shelter, meals, emotional support, financial assistance and recovery resources to families whose homes were damaged or destroyed. While the immediate response has concluded in many communities, we know that recovery continues long after the storms have passed.
To help residents take the next steps in their recovery, the American Red Cross, in partnership with local and state agencies and nonprofit organizations, will host a Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) on:
Wednesday, July 1
12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Bridgeview Community Center
7900 S. Oketo Ave.
Bridgeview, IL
The MARC provides a one-stop location where individuals and families impacted by the recent severe weather can connect with multiple organizations offering recovery information, assistance and additional resources.

Pace Bus Route Changes

Please be safe during this extreme heat.
Mayor Mike
